Marcy Golonka, President & Founder

Marcy has been a Crystal Lake native since 1996. Her background includes nearly 20+ years of Corporate Sales, Marketing, Project Planning and Corporate Compliance experience as well as 25+ years of Community Volunteering. Marcy is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Marketing. She lives and works in McHenry County where she and her husband are raising their children. During her volunteer activities, Marcy learned of the struggle within McHenry County to fulfill the need for foster housing. She is motivated to fix this particular issue by bringing the right people together and building a fully staffed and managed foster home campus in McHenry County.


Kari Siegmeier, Vice President

Kari has over 25 years of project management and operations management experience, with a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management Information Systems (OMIS) from Northern Illinois University.  In addition to her business background, she was the Development Director at CASA of McHenry County for four years where her primary role was to secure funding for the organization.  Being raised in Crystal Lake was a great experience for Kari, and she is currently raising her two boys with her husband Brett, living in the Crystal Lake neighborhood where her husband grew up.  Kari has a passion for making a difference for McHenry County’s most in need; especially the community’s most vulnerable children, where she gives back through volunteering with the Service League of Crystal Lake and CASA of McHenry County


Heather Kroencke, Secretary

Heather and her husband live in McHenry County with their three daughters. Heather is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Illinois, and in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She focuses her practice on all aspects of estate planning, from ensuring a proper and personalized initial estate plan through assisting families administer an estate when a loved one dies. She graduated cum laude from Marquette University Law School and cum laude from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Journalism degree. She actively volunteers in McHenry County via the United Way Greater McHenry County, Crystal Lake Young Professionals and Senior Care Volunteer Network. Heather is invested in the future of McHenry County and has a serious interest in foster care and the well being of those children in need in our community.


Jeremy Piwnicki, Treasurer

Jeremy and his wife, Beth, live in Crystal Lake with their three children. Jeremy graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, IL with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and has served as a Financial Advisor for the Becker Group since 2003.  Jeremy brings financial knowledge, budgeting, planning and strategic forecasting to the board of Deerhaven Home. He and his wife are also registered as a Safe Family and have had the ability to foster children over the past few years when their families were in need. Jeremy feels strongly about finding solutions for our youth in need and is eager to help build Deerhaven Home for those youth.

Patrick Kenneally

As the Mchenry County State’s Attorney, Patrick believes it is his duty to stand in solidarity with others to defend those who cannot defend themselves. As a past Deerhaven Home Board Member and current Advisory Board Member, Patrick can contribute to our efforts by demonstrating leadership expertise, cultivating relationships, and raising funds. His past experience on other worthy projects, including the New Directions Retreat, have given him valuable insight into the needs in our community.
